YOUR TO-DO LIST FOR A HEALTHY BRAIN
- Avoid heavy metals (use chelation agents to remove them from your body): mercury (in silver fillings, certain fish, certain cosmetics), arsenic (in some drinking water and foods), lead (in water, gasoline, paint, cigarette smoke, pipes, toys, city dust), and cadmium (in chocolate, smoking, tobacco).
- Test to see if you are part of the 25 percent of the population that is sensitive to mold. Treat your body and home for mold (if needed).
- Avoid certain antihistamines long-term (Benadryl and Atarax).
- Avoid certain anticholinergic medications long-term. (Fix the problem; medications are bandages.)
- Avoid too much copper. (Take zinc supplements to maintain a 1-to-1 ratio.)
- Avoid artificial sweeteners. (Minimize sugar intake as well.)
- Decrease alcohol intake. (Dry red wine, in small amounts, may be OK.) Stop drinking alcohol if you have the ApoE4 gene.
- Avoid trans fats (often in processed foods).
- Avoid unnecessary anesthesia. (Localize, if possible; keep oxygen levels high; and take glutathione supplement after surgery to clear it out of your body.)
- Avoid marijuana.
- Eradicate any chronic infections (cold sores, gingivitis, periodontal disease, chronic sinusitis, chronic bronchitis, chronic viral diseases, chronic Lyme disease, and Lyme disease coinfections).
- Correct insulin resistance (lose weight, reverse prediabetes and type 2 diabetes)
- Quench inflammation. (Fix it; don’t patch it.)
- Restore your leaky gut.
- Do intermittent fasting regularly.
- Consistently get a good night’s sleep.
- Manage your stress. (Remove stressors if you can.)
- Create an exercise habit (and stick to it).
- Balance your hormones. (Optimize if need be.)
- Feed your body the right foods (a healthy keto diet or a healthy Mediterranean diet).
- Fuel your brain daily.
- Strengthen your brain. (Every single day, exercise your brain.)
